FRAGILE FLOWERS

a compilation

I've never felt particularly compelled to take photos of flowers – so much has been done already – until the Corona lockdowns happened. Flowers took on a new meaning then. While I wasn't allowed to go outside and had to put my film projects on hold, I turned to photography and pointed the lens at the microcosmos of my own home. Flowers became unexpected new companions – like little proofs of life. And I found myself unexpectedly sentimental; when my floral friends wilted I could not bear to throw them out, so I just kept them all throughout the lockdown. Since that time I appreciate flowers a lot more.
